(48) Where & What

Goodness I am still recovering from my trip...
A trip that was a little more than two hours away but an adventure I had been long anticipated.
I have been dying to go to IKEA since we moved to the new house..
Our homestead is not a home as of yet...
but slowly each room is receiving necessary makeovers that make the house flow...
and adding all those little touches...
I have been coveting some things I have found on blogs & Pinterest and it was eating at me
DAILY...
OHH Pinterest you make me do such crazy things!
I had the awesome luck of finding someone who wanted to take the drive with me...
Poor Lady didn't know what she committed herself to...
I spent an entire day inside shopping.
YUP
 8 hours!
She was such a doll helping me push my 3 carts and helping with lil miss G...
She is in store for a special package of goodies for being such a sweetheart...
I left my house at 7:15 am and arrived home at 7:15 pm...
Surely the longest day I've had doing something that crazy..
I was able to purchase a bunch of things on my list,
and things not on my list.
I did find the island for my kitchen I will purchase once tax money hits.
I have learned MANY lessons about taking an adventure to IKEA...
Trust me it is an adventure if you have not been in a long time ...

This piece I purchased because I found a great pin and now must try...
(For the playroom)

Maybe I'll hang this in the guest bedroom..
Because it was pretty!

The 1 thing
 I  REALLY REALLY wanted..
Also the 1 that they didn't have in stock that I about cried over...

Things I learned from going to IKEA.
1. Make sure you go through your ENTIRE catalog before you go..
2. Print Pictures of what you want in a list format.
3. Know the names of each item..if you find it online and not in the catalog
4. Measure BEFORE you go, not wait for your husband to text you the measurements...
5. Wear comfy shoes.
6. Bring lots of bottles of water.
7. Don't drive your shopping partner crazy!!!

I am hoping to get back to IKEA over Christmas break to return the things that didn't work and pick up the things I still need...

Hope everyone is enjoying there Monday

I can't believe you were in IKEA that long & survived! Especially on a Saturday. Not my favorite store in the world....but it does have merit. Your craft kit is darling...great job. Glad you had a fun & rewarding day. Girlfriends on the Farm was a huge success....doing it again this Saturday it was so much fun!

You're one brave lady for even going to an Ikea on a Saturday! I love Ikea, but I don't love going to Ikea. All of the people drive me crazy. Love that cart though! What Ikea did you go to? I live about 15 minutes from one.

You're so right about going through the catalog first. I always get home and feel like I missed a lot, which is sad since the closest one is almost four hours away!

Looks like a fun time. I've never been to IKEA, but my Sister went last year and loved it.

You are so cute, this post has such personality! :) Add to the list for me, drive a vehicle big enough to fit the bookshelf you buy with out backing out of your parking space to get it through the passenger window. Haha! Did that.. People were waiting for my spot and sat there watching me bumble this super heavy box. Oh geez! So glad you had fun, crazy fun, but fun!

That sounds like a fun day! Well, maybe not for your driver! I would have been sad about the aqua cart too as it is high on my wish list.

IKEA does have a lot of fun stuff, but I couldn't last 8 hrs. in one!
